‘Packaging Considerations for Radiation Processing’ latest iia webinar coming soon

This webinar will explore how radiation sterilization methods impact packaging integrity and material performance. It will cover the effects of radiation on common packaging materials, including chemical changes and safety implications, and emphasise the importance of aligning with regulatory standards (USP, ISO). The webinar will also discuss key analytical strategies like extractables/leachables profiling, and how tools like Virtual Dose Mapping and advanced modeling of real-world conditions can optimise packaging design and ensure regulatory readiness.
Introduction of the HEALTHiiaR collaboration community
On May 27, 2025, the IIA announced the launch of the HEALTHiiaR Collaboration Community—a collective of industry leaders committed to advancing the use of radiation technologies in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors. A steering committee has been established to guide this initiative, including representatives from Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Pfizer, AbbVie, Abbott, Genentech, Roche, Cytiva, STERIS, and Sterigenics.
