Aerial and ThreeRays Promote High-Quality Development of the Irradiation Industry in China

Between June 6th and 12th, 2025, Aerial and ThreeRays, members of iia, along with Business France in Shanghai, conducted in-depth visits to leading Chinese firms and institutions that are related to irradiation. The visitors included Dr. Alain Strasser, General Manager of Aerial, Mr. Wei Peng, General Manager of ThreeRays, and three others who are part of their team. Ms. Lian Qu, Commercial Officer of Business France, was also involved in events in Shanghai.

The mission visited a total of ten irradiation-relevant organizations in Chengdu, Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Beijing. They consisted of research facilities, irradiation facilities, accelerator production facilities, microbiology labs, and dosimetry labs. Amongst companies visited were iia members Zhongjin Irradiation, CGN Dasheng, and Wuxi Elpont.

Technical exchanges of irradiation dosimetry systems and dosimeters were made by the delegation. Aerial displayed its latest technologies including alanine dosimeters, dose simulation and measurement systems, research-grade irradiation facilities, and training services. Demonstrations of Aerial’s DosASAP/CTA systems were made on-site at certain facilities.

The tour was rounded out by a final meeting at ThreeRays Beijing headquarters, where both companies compared notes and looked to future collaboration. The initiative fostered mutual understanding of China’s irradiation infrastructure and formed a good foundation for future cooperation. Aerial and ThreeRays hope to offer better, localised dosimetry solutions and services most appropriate to China’s and the Asian region’s needs.
