Radnext: Irradiation of electronic components

The RADNEXT project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme has now been launched. RADNEXT stands for RADiation facility Network for the EXploration of effects for indusTry and research. The main project objective is to create a network of facilities, develop a methodology, and test state-of-the-art microelectronics to be used in aerospace, automobiles, the Internet of Things, nuclear dismantling and medicine.

Coordinated by the CERN, the project includes different Joint Research Activities:

  • Radiation monitors, dosimeters and beam characterization,
  • Standardization of system level radiation qualification methodology,
  • Cumulative radiation effects on electronics,
  • Complementary modelling tools.

Partners and associates include academia, agencies, institutes and industry.
