iia attended the China X-ray Medical Device Sterilization Launch at Medtec China 2025

The China X-ray Medical Device Sterilization Launch was held on 24 September 2025 in the main auditorium of Medtec China 2025 – the International Medical Device Design & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition. Initiated by IBA, the event was co-organized with Steris AST, Futeng Irradiation, Johnson & Johnson, BSI, and Jiehao Medical. More than 100 delegates attended this Launch.

Wei Peng, representing iia, made opening remarks. He introduced the iia and the activities related X-ray irradiaton in medical device sterilization, and mentioned that China has entered the commercial era of X-ray sterilization. Find Wei Peng’s speech in Chinese and English at this link.

Six oral presentations from regulation, equipment, service and end-use, presented the full X-ray medical sterilization ecosystem—from standard to hardware to commercial reality:

• Mr. Herve Michel from Steris AST: X-ray Radiation Processing, Technology Comparison and Transfer.
• Mr. Qi Shen from Futeng Irradiation: Introduction of EB and X-ray sterilization of TT200 and TT300 in Futeng Irradiation.
• Mr. Weishan Ma from Johnson & Johnson: Transition of sterilization method for medical device products from gamma radiation to X-ray radiation.
• Mr. Peter Han from BSI: BSI and X-ray sterilized product certification approach.
• Mr. Jeremy Brison from IBA : The Rise of X-ray, Shaping the future of Medical Device Sterilization.
• Ms. Jiangmei Chen from Jiehao Medical: Understanding and use of product bioburden data.
