Fermilab Superconducting RF Accelerators

Following the recent article in Phys.org that introduces the development of a new type of electron beam accelerator for medical device sterilisation, a further update has been issued by Fermilab.

The update refers to the IARC’s (Illinois Accelerator Research Centre) roadmap to develop high power accelerators for many industrial applications. IARC aim to combine small-scale cryogenic and superconducting technologies in the development of compact and efficient accelerator prototypes.
