Transport Facilitation Working Group (TFWG)

Established in April 2014, the Transport Facilitation Working Group (TFWG) consists of experts, including former Chairs of the International Steering Committee on Denials of Shipment of Radioactive Material (ISC-DOS) and representatives of Member States. TFWG is responsible for gathering credible data on denials of shipment of radioactive materials, identifying major issues causing delays, providing denial status reports to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAG), creating communication materials to advocate for Clause 7 transport, and offering feedback on training materials related to the safe transport of radioactive materials.

The main objective of the World Institute of Nuclear Security (WINS) is to enhance the professionalism and proficiency of individuals engaged in nuclear security, ensuring that nuclear and radioactive materials remain shielded from terrorist or criminal exploitation. Achieving this demands robust management and regulatory frameworks capable of countering diverse threats, including physical, cyber, and insider risks, alone or in tandem. We advance this goal by disseminating optimal security strategies and endorsing the professional certification of all personnel accountable for nuclear security.

The Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that supports over 85 members from science, academia, healthcare, and nuclear sectors dedicated to maintaining Canada’s isotope production. CNIC raises awareness, advocates for long-term, science-based policies that promote healthcare innovation, and ensures public health and safety. By leveraging existing infrastructure and expertise, CNIC positively impacts global health, keeps hospitals safe, and enhances Canada's role in the medical community. Its mission is to align and advance members' interests through principled policy work, business services, and engagement to boost competitiveness and economic growth in Canada’s isotope industry.
