Industrial Waste Water Treatment

Radiation processing is used to clean industrial waste water from the textile industry. Textile dyeing accounts for a fifth of all industrial wastewater pollution generated worldwide. Beside its chemical cleansing effects, irradiation also has the capability to dissociate biologically active organic pollutants.

The world’s largest industrial waste water treatment facility using electron beam technology commenced operations on June 5, 2020 “World Environment Day”. The facility, located at the Guanhua Knitting Factory in South China, uses 7 electron accelerators to treat more than 30,000 tons of waste water per day. This makes it the largest industrial waste water treatment project using electron beam technology in the world. It is estimated that the project will save 4.5 million tons of water annually.
