The iia Partners with E-BEAM Services for International Electron Beam Day 2026
The iia is pleased to announce partnership with E-BEAM Services to support International Electron Beam Day 2026 – 30th April, 2026.
International Electron Beam Day was created to raise awareness of the positive impact that electron beam technology has on the world and to recognize the scientists, engineers, operators, and innovators who make it possible. This day commemorates April 30, 1897, when physicist J.J. Thomson first proposed the existence of the electron, a discovery that reshaped the study of physics and laid the foundation for countless technological advances. More than a century later, electron beam technology has evolved into a critical industrial platform used to sterilize medical devices, strengthen materials, improve food safety, and enable advanced manufacturing.
This year, E-BEAM Services have provided resources to help raise awareness of the technology, including a Partner Toolkit and a Teacher Toolkit for High-school/Introductory College level students. Find these resources at this link.
We encourage our members to get involved with this initiative, and show support for this irradiation technology by participating however you can – by social media, holding a teaching event, or hosting an in-office celebration.
