KAERI joins iia

The iia is pleased to welcome Advanced Radiation Technology Institute, KAERI as its newest member.

The Advanced Radiation Technology Institute (ARTI), an affiliate of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), is the only research institute in Korea specializing exclusively in radiation technology. ARTI plays a key role in supporting national R&D initiatives and capacity building in radiation processing and its diverse applications.

ARTI is equipped with a wide range of radiation sources, including two gamma irradiators (490 kCi, 3 kCi, Co-60), an ion implanter (300 keV), a gamma phytotron (400 Ci, Co-60), a mobile electron accelerator (0.65 MeV), and a cyclotron (30 MeV). In 2018, two electron accelerators (2.5 and 10 MeV) were installed in a large-scale multipurpose E-Beam irradiation center and an additional low energy electron acceelrator(200 keV) was installed in 2020.

Our research covers various areas of radiation processing technology, including materials science, radiation equipment, environmental remediation, biotechnology, food irradiation, and agricultural applications.
