New iia Publication: Radiological Source Security factsheet

The iia has updated its Radiological Source Security Factsheet that introduces key areas of security to be considered and implemented. It also provides links to iia security best practice and assessment guides that have been produced in collaboration with gamma irradiator operators and radiological security expects.

The iia is supporting the WINS workshop on ‘Security of Radioactive Sources Used in Gamma Irradiators and at Facilities that Store, Handle and Distribute Cobalt-60 Sources’ to be held in Vienna in December 2026. This workshop is an unusual opportunity that brings together members of the gamma irradiation community and security experts with specialist knowledge of radiation processing facilities.
