2nd China-ASEAN Forum for Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Technology

China and ASEAN have continued to deepen their cooperation in nuclear energy and technology over the last decade, as was seen at the 2nd annual ‘China-ASEAN Forum for Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Technology’.

At this event, CAEA (China Atomic Energy Authority) Vice Chairman Liu Jing noted China’s provision of nuclear technology products, training, and support to ASEAN nations. ASEAN’s Secretary-General, Kao Kim Hourn, expressed optimism about enhancing cooperation in nuclear technology and clean energy. Further to this, the importance of ongoing collaboration was emphasized by experts at the forum.

CAEA introduced China’s solutions for nuclear technology applications across various sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and public security. Additionally, The China Isotope and Radiation Association (CIRA) announced six China-ASEAN peaceful uses of nuclear technology cooperation demonstration projects, meaning participating nuclear-related enterprises and institutions signed 10 cooperation agreements with ASEAN countries and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The forum was attended by over 400 participants, including Chinese and ASEAN experts and scholars from enterprises and universities.
