International Electron Beam Day commemorates April 30, 1897, when physicist J.J. Thomson first proposed the existence of the electron, a discovery that revolutionized physics and paved the way for transformative technologies. More than a century later, electron beam technology has become essential to modern industry, sterilizing medical devices, strengthening materials, improving food safety, and enabling advanced manufacturing.
