Second municipal sewage irradiation facility in India

After Ahmedabad, a second gamma irradiation facility is about to go online in the central Indian city of Indore. Designed to process 5 tons per hour of dry sewage,  this facility is part of the Swachh Bharat (clean India) program .Cobalt-60 has been loaded commissioning is in the final phase.
Built by our member Symec Engineers in collaboration with Indore Smart City Limited and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre ,the plant will add value to municipal sewage by converting hazardous waste into a useful bio-fertilizer after hygienization.
This facility has minimal manual operations. Crushing, sieving, loading, irradiation, bioNPK fertilizer spraying and bagging are fully automated.
