Renaming of the Phytosanitary Irradiation Platform (PSiP) and New Collaboration with IFIS
The iia is pleased to announce an important development in the evolution of the phytosanitary irradiation platform.
The Phytosanitary Irradiation Platform (PSiP) is being renamed the Phytosanitary and Food Irradiation Platform (PFiP).This change reflects the platform’s expanded scope, encompassing not only phytosanitary applications but also the broader field of food irradiation. The new name better represents our growing commitment to supporting trade, food safety and innovation across both fresh produce and food ecosystems.
We are also excited to announce a collaboration agreement with the International Food Ionising Processing Symposium (IFIS). The collaboration will strengthen our efforts to enhance knowledge sharing, technical resources, and global engagement. This relationship will support the development of improved knowledge and understanding and will provide better access to scientific information for the global community.
PFiP is part of the International Irradiation Association (iia) while IFIS a collaborative initiative of IBA and Aerial.
We look forward to this new chapter and the opportunities it brings to advance the use of irradiation technologies in both phytosanitary and food applications.
