The International Meeting on Radiation Processing is recognised as the leading international event for those involved in the application, science and technology of radiation processing. It is where the business and science of irradiation come together to discuss recent advances, current trends as well as the issues and opportunities that impact the commercial use of ionizing radiation.

Arrangements for the 22nd International Meeting on Radiation Processing (IMRP 2027) are well underway. The Programme Committee has been formed and is made up of international experts from a wide range of backgrounds in irradiation. Work has already started on the development of an engaging programme that reflects the needs and expectations of our diverse industry. The Organising Committee is bringing together the facilities and operational arrangements that enable the programme to be delivered to the high standard that is expected of an IMRP.

The Theme

‘A New Age for Irradiation’

The IMRP 2027 theme is intentionally broad and forward looking. It can be applied to the positive exploitation of irradiation science, technologies and applications. Research, development and increased computational power are resulting in alternative approaches to our activities. Changing market conditions, the regulatory landscape and best practice expectations all require us to respond and adjust our operations.

Call for Abstracts

The IMRP 2027 Programme Committee is looking for business, technical and scientific content. Submitted abstracts will drive the content of the meeting and IMRP 2027 will provide various opportunities to highlight your work.

It is not essential to submit a formal abstract and the Programme Committee will accept and review a simple paragraph that outlines and summarises the key points of your presentation. This flexibility is in recognition of the early Call for Abstracts and to encourage a rich and varied content for IMRP 2027. Please note that all presentation submissions, as either a formal abstract or a presentation summary, will be published in the event app and in any post-IMRP 2027 review.

  • CALL FOR ABSTRACTS OPENS: 8th April 2026
  • CALL FOR ABSTRACTS DEADLINE: 30th June 2026
Awards

The iia will present two Laureate Awards at IMRP 2027, one Scientific Laureate and one Business Laureate. These awards are presented to individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the science, technology or business of radiation processing.

The iia will also present IMRP Early Career Professional Awards to celebrate the achievements of emerging leaders in the irradiation industry.

Please start to consider potential nominations for these awards. The iia will make a call for award nominations later in the year.

Regional sponsors

Thank you to the Regional Sponsors of IMRP 2027 BGS Beta-Gamma-Service and IBA Industrial Solutions

The success and long term viability of IMRP is made possible by the support of sponsors. The Regional Sponsors make the largest financial contribution to the meeting.

The iia will start to share further sponsorship and exhibition opportunities shortly with priority given to iia members. IMRP 2027 will be a unique opportunity for suppliers to the radiation processing industry to engage with their customers and prospects from around the world in a single place and dynamic environment over several days.
