CIRC to supply gamma irradiation facility to Bangladesh
The China Isotope & Radiation Corporation (CIRC), a member of iia, has won a contract to supply a gamma irradiation facility to the Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA). This is the first such project commissioned by a foreign government to CIRC and is expected to result in enhanced levels of international cooperation by the organisation.
The gamma irradiator will have a capacity of over one million curies and is designed for the treatment of foods, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
