Evolution of the iia team in 2024

2024 was a year of continued evolution for our Board and Operational team, with changes reflecting the growth and strategic aims of the iia.

This year marked the first full year of Arthur Dumba serving as iia General Manager, following his appointment in August of 2023. Arthur assumed this role to enable Paul Wynne and Martin Comben to gradually reduce their time commitments to the iia as they prepare for their future retirements. Additionally, Yves Henon announced his retirement from the iia board in April 2024. Yves had been a long-standing member of the iia operational team alongside Paul and Martin before joining the Board ahead of IMRP20, Bangkok in 2022. These personnel changes mark the end of an era for the iia, enabling an evolution of the iia operational team.

The expansion of the iia operational team saw the introduction of an additional regional representative the United States. Peng Wei joined as the regional representative for China in 2023 and has since aided the advancement of initiatives to better support Chinese members. These efforts included translating four iia publications into Chinese, launching a WeChat account (details below), hosting two webinars in Chinese, and creating a dedicated Chinese-language section on the iia website. Following the success of Peng’s appointment, Thomas Kroc joined as the iia’s regional representative for the United States in November 2024. Thomas’s role will enable the team to strengthen iia’s presence and communication within the USA, enhancing the value of iia membership in this region.
