The iia is pleased to invite you to participate in the next Science and Engineering of Radiation Processing (SERP) meeting. SERP meetings are designed to create a platform for dialogue between academia and industry. Each meeting includes a presentation, followed by a moderated discussion, allowing for all participants to discuss the latest challenges, opportunities, and innovations in our field.
Presentation scheduled for this meeting:
- Richard Wiens, Director, Business Development & Strategic Supply, Nordion: Advancing Sterile Insect Technique using Cobalt-60.
“Although New World Screw Worm was previously eradicated in Mexico through the application of Sterile Insect Technique, the pest has re-emerged and is threatening the Mexican cattle industry and beef exports, which has a significant economic impact. SENASICA, the Mexican Service for the National Health for Food Safety and Food Quality has been working with Nordion, supported by both the Mexican and Canadian governments, to modernize an SIT facility for a renewed fight against this pest.”
Keep up to date with the latest from SERP by joining the dedicated LinkedIn group.

-
From Academia: What are you working on? Who should know about it? What are the potential applications?
-
From Industry: What challenges need research attention? What capabilities or innovations do you wish were available?
If you are interested in presenting, please contact Thomas Kroc at tkroc@iiaglobal.com.
