Deepak Patil elected Chair of ASTM Committee E61 on Radiation Processing

Deepak Patil, Vice President of Sterilization Science and Technology at STERIS AST, a member of the iia, has been elected Chair of the ASTM International Committee E61 on Radiation Processing.

Established in 2012, Committee E61 develops and maintains standard practices, methods, and guidelines for ionizing radiation processing and dosimetry. Its work supports applications in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, foods, polymers, and consumer products. The committee also creates standard methods for the characterization and operation of electron beam, gamma, and X-ray irradiators, and promotes their use through technical collaboration and knowledge sharing.
